Personal bio
Datuk Roger Chin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and an experienced dispute resolution practitioner based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. He serves as an arbitrator and mediator at the Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM) and as an adjudicator under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act (CIPAA). His practice spans construction, corporate, commercial, and intellectual property disputes, with a strong focus on supporting investor confidence and regulatory compliance in Sabah.
A graduate of the University of Melbourne (LLB, BCom), Datuk Roger is the Immediate Past President of the Sabah Law Society and currently serves as Vice Chair of the LAWASIA Corporate Securities & Investment Committee. He is also a Fellow of AIADR. His expertise extends to intellectual property, where he is a registered patent, trademark, and industrial design agent, and he has contributed to government task forces on matters including the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the Sulu arbitration award. He is fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Bahasa Indonesia.
