Senior Financial Services and Regulatory Lawyer with over ten years’ experience advising boards and senior management on complex cross-border matters involving funds, investment structures, and regulated financial entities across Mauritius, India, and Africa.
As a Chevening Scholar with strong board-level exposure, I combine technical regulatory depth with practical commercial judgment.
I am also the Chief Legal Officer at Zinnia Funds, where I lead legal and compliance strategy for a licensed CIS Manager and its fund structures. I sit on the boards of multiple FSC-regulated entities, including an Investment Dealer and a Protected Cell Company, and have held regulator-approved appointments as MLRO, Compliance Officer, Data Protection Officer (current), and Qualified Trustee (current). My practice is hands-on and execution-focused, covering the drafting and negotiation of Private Placement Memoranda, fund constitutional documents, service and advisory agreements, and complex transactional documentation, as well as regulatory submissions and supervisory engagement.
I regularly advise on cross-border structuring and investment flows, with particular experience navigating the interaction between Mauritian financial services legislation, India–Mauritius DTAA frameworks, and evolving global AML, tax, and compliance standards. I am known for helping clients structure transactions that withstand regulatory scrutiny while remaining commercially workable.
Alongside practice, I maintain a strong academic and technical edge. I am undertaking doctoral research in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law, completing an MBA in Artificial Intelligence, and have advanced training in AI Law, Policy, and Governance from the London School of Economics. This allows me to engage credibly on the regulatory and governance implications of technology, data, and AI within financial services.
I am a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors and an SQE candidate, with a clear pathway towards qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
