Peninnah Asah is the Company Secretary and Acting General Counsel of Development Bank Ghana Ltd, a national development finance institution that provides medium- to long-term funding through participating financial institutions for on‑lending to MSMEs and small corporates. In her current role, she is responsible for Board and corporate governance management, drafting and reviewing agreements and legal opinions, overseeing regulatory reporting, and advising on a broad range of compliance and transactional matters. Prior to joining Development Bank Ghana, Peninnah practised as a private legal practitioner with a focus on dispute resolution (commercial litigation, corporate practice, family and labour disputes, as well as debt recovery). She also served for four years as Personal Assistant to the Attorney‑General and Minister for Justice, where she handled high‑level and confidential information, reviewed complex agreements and legal opinions, and drafted opinions on significant matters of public interest.
