Personal bio
Dr Felix Oweka is a barrister from Nigeria having qualified since 1999 and has wealth of experience in Arbitration and Mediation. He has practiced in the International Law firm of Chief G.O. Sodipo and Co in Lagos for many years before proceeding to start the Law Masters Chambers in Lagos as the managing partner. He has taken part in various arbitrations and Mediations.
He relocated to United Kingdom and requalified as a Solicitor of the Senior courts of England and Wales. He obtained his LLM in International and Commercial Dispute Resolution law from the University of Westminster. He has taught Transnational Commercial law at Anglia Ruskin University at Postgraduate level before proceeding to lecture at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He obtained his PhD in International Arbitration from ARU Cambridge exploring the IBA Rules and the search for standardisation of procedural documentary evidence in international arbitration centres using ICC, SCC, LCIA and ICSID as case studies. He is a fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
He is presently a senior lecturer at the Anglia Ruskin University London where he lectures in law at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is also a certified mediator having been certified by Jesus College, Maryland, USA.
