Personal bio
Luis Peretti is a partner at Souto Correa (São Paulo) and an arbitrator. His practice concentrates on disputes with a technical core: industrial projects and equipment supply, construction and EPC contracts, and power and telecommunications infrastructure — matters where the contested issues are as often engineering as legal.
He has issued nine awards across seven arbitrations, sitting as sole arbitrator, as president of a three-member tribunal and as co-arbitrator, in institutional proceedings and under the UNCITRAL Rules, drafting in Portuguese and English. He served as Secretary-General of the Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration of CIESP/FIESP, sits on the arbitrator rosters of CIETAC and CMAC and on the Appointing Authority of the Asian European Arbitration Center (Hamburg), and is Brazil's delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
He holds a PhD candidacy in civil law at the University of São Paulo, where his thesis addresses the obligation of guarantee — the law of warranties in supply and construction contracts. Working languages: Portuguese, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin (HSK 5). FCIArb; ranked by Chambers Global and Chambers Brazil.
