Emi is a Partner at Kudun & Partners and leads their Japan practice. She is passionate about providing practical, commercial solutions to clients. She has extensive experience in advising and representing clients in commercial litigation, international arbitration and mediation cases across the region and regularly assists Japanese clients in a broad range of legal matters. Emi speaks and reads fluent Japanese.
Her practice covers a broad range of areas including dispute resolution, employment, competition and investigations. She has advised clients from many sectors including manufacturing, financial, energy, hospitality and consumer products. Emi has acted as counsel and advocate in court proceedings and represented clients in arbitrations under various rules (ICC, SIAC, LCIA and TAI). Emi is also an accredited mediator.
Emi's interests include working on social justice, particularly children's rights and protection, and is involved in the CSR and Pro Bono initiatives at Kudun & Partners.
In addition to practicing law, Emi is a professional counselor. She possesses a unique combination of skills as a lawyer and a counselor, allowing her to comprehend the psychology of dispute resolution. She is a keen advocate of mental health and well-being and holds a Masters degree in counseling.
