Personal bio
Helen has over 20 years of experience within the construction industry and has been involved with dispute resolution, forensic delay analysis, contract administration and project management on a diverse array of complex projects with values up to £2.8 billion. She is a Chartered Building Surveyor, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has successfully completed both the RICS Diploma in Adjudication and the Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London.
Helen practices as an adjudicator and is on a number of panels, including the RICS President’s Panel, CIArb LVD MAP and UK Adjudicators. She has also supported clients in mediations.
Helen also has a comprehensive knowledge of different delay analysis techniques and is proficient in the use of Oracle Primavera P6 and Asta Powerproject to prepare detailed delay analyses and in the preparation of extension of time claims.
Helen is well versed in standard forms of contract, such as JCT and NEC, with further experience in heavily amended and bespoke forms of contract. She has also prepared documentation as part of adjudication proceedings and mediations, including quantum reports for claims of professional negligence. Her role has also included assisting in the drafting of Expert Witness reports, both delay and quantum.
Prior to specialising in the field of dispute resolution, Helen was a building surveyor and subsequently moved to project management, achieving specialist expertise in contract administration on behalf of developers on luxury hotel, residential, education, hospitality and mixed-use developments.
