Dr Subroto Roy is a corporate legal and ADR professional with an experience of over 30 years. Currently he is a corporate advisor / lawyer mainly appearing before Allahabad High Court and NCLT Allahabad Bench and handles issues related to commercial, corporate, arbitration and mediation. Started his career as a tax lawyer and later as a Company Secretary and then as an in-house corporate counsel with the Bajaj Group of Mumbai, working in the power, sugar and FMCG segment.
He is skilled in Alternate Dispute Resolution, Litigation Management, Legal Compliance, Corporate Governance, Planning, Legal Research and Liasoning and with appearance before Judicial Institutions and statutory bodies. He has expertise in handling complex matters related to industry and business before the statutory authorities, legal institutions and administrative authorities.
Dr Subroto Roy earned his D.Phil degree (doctorate) in Commerce from the University of Allahabad and LL.M. in Insolvency Laws & Master’s in Mediation & Conflict Resolution degrees from Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai (MNLU-M). He completed his post-graduate diploma in Arbitration & Mediation from MNLU, Mumbai. He also completed his LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from Jindal Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat and LL.M. from Nehru Gram Bharti (Deemed) University, Prayagraj-Allahabad. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India; New Delhi having qualified his CS Degree in 1996.
He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration Laws from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru and Post Graduate Diploma in ADR from NALSAR Law University, Hyderabad. He holds Post Membership Qualification Professional Diploma in Arbitration from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He completed his B.Com & LL.B. degree from the University of Allahabad.
Besides the above academic and professional qualifications he also holds MBA, MPA, M.Com, MA(CSR), MA(Development Studies) degrees and has post graduate diplomas in Contracts, Corporate Governance, Intellectual Property Rights, Financial Management Practices, Criminal Justice, Cyber Law, Competition Law and professional certifications in Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws, Forensic Audit, Arbitration, Mediation, Climate Change besides being an accredited and qualified Mediator and Arbitrator from various domestic and international institutions, like the International Mediation Institute, The Netherlands, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Gurugram, ICSI International ADR Centre, New Delhi, India International Arbitration Centre, New Delhi, International Arbitration & Mediation Centre, Hyderabad, Centre for Mediation and Research, Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai.
