Personal bio
I have more than 20 years’ experience mainly in technology, energy, construction and complex commercial dispute resolution. I have drafted, reviewed, and advised on complex commercial contracts and construction engineering contracts including the Hong Kong General Conditions of Contract for Civil Engineering Works, FIDIC and NEC contracts. I have provided dispute resolution advisory and consultancy work focusing on arbitration, adjudication and mediation strategies and effective management of parallel proceedings.
In Hong Kong I worked (1) as in-house counsel for a state-owned construction engineering company; (2) as a partner at an international law firm, advising and representing clients in complex commercial negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation proceedings; and (3) as a consultant at a top-tier international law firm in the commercial and construction dispute resolution team.
Prior to relocating to Hong Kong, I worked in the UK as (1) an Associate in the litigation and arbitration department at an American multinational law firm headquartered in New York; and (2) legal assistant to Neil Kaplan CBE KC SBS.
I have served a wide range of clients, including governments, large-scale state-owned enterprises, listed companies, multinational companies, financial institutions, privately owned enterprises, and individuals.
I have led internal and external counsel and expert teams in complex and multi-jurisdictional and parallel proceedings in the APAC region including but not limited to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, India, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Australia.
I am a FIDIC certified Adjudicator on the FIDIC President’s List and NEC Asia Pacific trainer and NEC accredited Project Manager.
