Personal bio

Arnold Gonzalez is a global trade compliance and operations executive with 32 years of experience spanning the airline, ocean freight, and international logistics industries. His career began in 1994 in the airline cargo sector, where he worked with Air France, Martinair, and KLM Cargo as a Cargo Agent, Procurement Officer, and Hazmat Instructor, while also supporting legal teams as a Legal Assistant on arbitration investigations. During this period, he expanded into ocean management transportation, contributing to ocean carrier arbitration and mediation matters involving NVOCCs and ocean freight forwarders.

Building on this foundation, Arnold moved into work with freight forwarders, exporters, importers, consolidators, and distribution companies, including operations within Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ). As an independent advisor, he supported legal matters and trade law arbitration investigations across these sectors before transitioning, in 2010, into a Director of Logistics Operations role with a freight forwarder — marking the beginning of the formal trade compliance leadership career detailed in his professional record.

From 2010 to the present, Arnold has held a progression of senior compliance leadership roles — including Director of Logistics Operations, Import/Export Compliance & Logistics Manager, Trade Compliance Training Manager, Director of Trade Compliance, Senior Global Trade Compliance Advisor, and his current role as Americas Export/Import Senior Trade Compliance Advisor and Empowered Official at National Technical Systems (NTS). Across these positions, he has managed multisite, multinational compliance programs for organizations in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and logistics, overseeing ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and BIS licensing; government contract compliance (FAR/DFARS/FMS/TAA); C-TPAT and supply chain security; and cross-border operations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and international sites.

Arnold holds an active U.S. Secret clearance and a broad portfolio of academic and professional credentials in international trade law, arbitration, supply chain management, and compliance, and is affiliated with leading industry organizations including the ICC, ABA, IBA, BIICL, SIA, SCCE, SIEL, ASIL, ACSS, ICPA, FMC, IATA Ciarb, AAA and WCO. Combining three decades of hands-on operational experience with deep regulatory and legal expertise, he brings a rare, end-to-end perspective on global trade — from the cargo ramp to the boardroom.
