Personal bio
Shu was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2023. She is specialised in construction law. Shu is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese and has been a Fellow of CIArb since 2019. Shu is dual-qualified both in law and civil engineering and has been practising in engineering as a registered professional engineer (P.Eng).
Shu has been acting both as a presiding and co-arbitrator for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna since 2023 and the Pre-Moots since 2022. Shu was on the arbitral tribunal for the round of 16 at Vis Moot in 2025. Shu has been practising as an independent legal consultant advising clients on contentious construction issues involving expert determination and international commercial arbitration since 2019.
Shu holds an LLM via Bar Vocational Study from City University of London, an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London, and an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London.
Shu is a member of the Society of Construction Law (SCL), ICC, LCIA, IBA, Gray’s Inn, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), HKIAC Belt & Road, ArbitralWomen, Worshipful Company of Arbitrators, and a P.Eng of the Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia Canada.
