I am a Chartered Building Services Engineer with 40 years’ experience within consultancy companies.
Over the past 15 years I have held partner and director positions in three companies, and am currently a director and owner of Owl Consulting Ltd.
I have extensive experience in Building Services Consultancy within most market sectors. This includes undertaking detail designs and support services on industrial, health care, education, data centre, hotel, commercial, custodial, religious, retail, hospital, high end residential and housing developments.
I have undertaken various roles for end use clients, developers and contractors addressing refurbishments, refitting and new build projects.
I have acted as project manager and provided cost control services, in addition to the mechanical and electrical design, on projects in excess of £8m. I have often assisted in purchase and lease negotiations for land and premises and have extensive experience in dilapidations.
The experience gained across the market sectors facilitates the utilisation of lessons and solutions from one sector to enhance and improve the delivered product in others.
My passion is delivering both robust and, environmentally and financially sustainable design solutions to meet client needs whilst improving the design beyond that, which is generally considered and achieved in the building services market.
I have seamlessly introduced the use of Revit and taken on the wider implications of BIM integration into a dedicated and technically competent team. At the same time, I have ensured that my use of software and understanding of the nuances have kept pace with the design methodology.
I act as an expert during litigation and disputes which has been a source of work and personal satisfaction over the last 25+ years following my first appearance in court, where the decision set a precedent. I have worked on claims up to a value of £23m.
I am a Chartered Engineer and was elected as Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers in 1995 and am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
