Practicing law since 2009 with a focus on commercial and investment arbitration. Expertise involves a significant number of high-value and complex disputes either under ad-hoc proceedings or institutional rules, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), and Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).
A profound experience gained throughout a career spanning over fifteen years in reputable law firms and as an independent practitioner, particularly in practice areas such as foreign investment, construction, energy, industrial transfers, oil and gas, corporate, joint-ventures, agency and distribution, commodities, international sale, hotel industry, State contracts and telecommunications. Expertise is profound in construction encompasses various types of projects, e.g., infrastructure, cement plants, real estate development (commercial, residential, and retail), airports, hotels, power plants, water desalination, wastewater treatment, museums, and tunnels.
Acts as counsel and arbitrator. Regularly advises and appears as counsel in projects and disputes involving States, State-owned-enterprises, and major multinational companies in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the US and Canada.
Fluent in Arabic and English. LL.M. in international arbitration from University of Miami, and a Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration), with a broad knowledge and solid foundation in navigating between the civil and common law systems. Advising on different laws of MENA/GCC countries, as the Egyptian Civil Code is constituted to be the primary source for Middle Eastern legislations (e.g., Kuwait, UAE, KSA, Oman, Syria, Sudan, Iraq, Libya and Qatar).
Drafting, negotiating, and executing complex transactions in hospitality (including hotel management agreements, F&B), real estate, natural resources, manufacturing, construction, tourism, telecommunications, and e-payment sectors.
