Dr. Valerio De Rossi is a Master Mariner with more than thirty-five years of experience in maritime operations and governance.

He has served at sea in command and subsequently in senior executive and board-level roles within international maritime organisations. His professional background combines operational command experience with executive oversight of marine assurance, regulatory compliance, insurance strategy, and contractual risk allocation.

He holds a Doctorate in Professional Studies, an LL.M. in Maritime Law (Distinction), and an MSc in Marine Operations. He is a Chartered Marine Technologist (CMarTech), a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (FIMarEST), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), and a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA).

He accepts appointments in commercial maritime disputes, subject always to strict independence and the absence of actual or perceived conflict.

His work concerns contractual interpretation, casualty analysis, marine insurance issues, regulatory and classification compliance, and matters involving technical and operational standards.
