I am a civil and IFLA (Institute of Family Law Arbitrators) arbitrator (finances and children).
I qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and have specialised as a family law solicitor and mediator since 1997. In 2008 I established Beckett Solicitors, a specialist family law firm in Kent and London. I offer arbitration to clients across England and Wales.
I have a wealth of experience in family law arbitration helping couples to resolve family disputes. As a trusted expert in family law I am committed to resolving disputes with professionalism and care. My services include arbitration, mediation and neutral evaluation.
I am an experienced, civil (County Court) and small claims arbitrator dealing with a range of disputes including building disputes, debt claims, consumer disputes and harassment claims.
I am the co-chair of the IFLA Executive Committee which advises the IFLA Board and the former chair of the Forum of Family Law Arbitrators. As a member of the IFLA Executive Committee, I have assisted in drafting the IFLA forms and Guides, the President’s Guidance for the Financial and Children Arbitration Schemes and the IFLA Rules. I have provided arbitration training and given presentations to the College of Judges and other legal professionals and my advice on the Family Arbitration Scheme is frequently sought by other professionals. I have also written or contributed to various guides on arbitration including the IFLA Guide to Family Arbitration for family law mediators. I am a member of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators.
Having a passion for non court dispute resolution I was delighted to qualify as a financial arbitrator with IFLA in 2013, and in 2016 I went on to qualify as an arbitrator under IFLA's Children Scheme. This means that I am qualified to arbitrate financial and child disputes.
My services are tailored to suit my clients' individual circumstances; to resolve disputes efficiently, economically and compassionately. I can help resolve disputes ranging from complex, high value claims to a single issue.
