Guillermo M. Peral Vaello, MCIArb, is a Spanish-based lawyer specialised in domestic and international litigation and arbitration.
His practice encompasses domestic arbitration, particularly commercial and corporate disputes, as well as international commercial arbitration, especially under the UNIDROIT Principles and the Vienna Convention (CISG). He also acts in investment disputes arising under BITs and the ICSID Convention, particularly in the energy and mining sectors, before a range of domestic and international arbitral institutions and tribunals.
He is a member of IUS+AEQUITAS Trial Lawyers, a Madrid-based disputes boutique ranked Band 1 for Litigation by Chambers Global and Chambers Europe.
Guillermo holds a bilingual dual degree in Law and International Relations from Universidad CEU San Pablo and completed part of his academic studies at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. He subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in Legal Practice from Universidad CEU San Pablo and completed the Advanced Course in Arbitration of the International Centre for Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation (CIAMEN). He also holds a specialist qualification in Legal English.
His academic distinctions include an Honourable Mention for the Albert H. Kritzer Award for Best Claimant’s Memorandum at the XVII International Commercial Arbitration and Commercial Law Competition (UC3M/UNCITRAL)— and holds the NATO 2030 Award following his research in defence policy and military cooperation.
His broader academic interests encompass political cooperation, multilateralism, international security and the defence industry.
He also hold the "Grupo Tácito" National Award for the Best Thesis in Law.
