Miss Khushnuma Khan Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law

Ms. Khushnuma Khan is a practising lawyer since 30 years. She is the first generation lawyer/Solicitor in her family. She graduated as Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from Mumbai University. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Laws from London. In 1993 she was enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa. She did her Articles from S. Mahommadbhai & Co and qualified as a Solicitor and was enrolled with Incorporated Law Society, Bombay High Court, in 2005. In year 2009-10 she founded her own lawfirm in the name of K K Associates (Advocates & Solicitors) and in 2014, she associated her firm with MIO International law firm, in Dubai UAE for catering to the clients in India and Dubai. She holds a Consultancy license from Shams Sharjah Media City since 2017. Before starting her own venture she has worked with few prestigious law firms, viz; Little & Co, Kanga & Co and D.M. Harish & Co.

She is an empanelled Mediator with High Court Bombay. She is empanelled as a Life Member Arbitrator with Indian Council of Arbitrators. Certified/Accredited Arbitrator by India Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM). She is conferred Fellowship by the Arbitrator from Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (CIARB). She is empanelled Arbitrator with the Standing Committee of Public Sector Enterprises.(SCOPE), Asian-Indian Export Chamber of Commerce (AEICC). She is empanelled Arbitrator/ Mediator with Geneva International Dispute Resolution Institute (GIDI). She is registered Advocate-On-Record with the Supreme Court of India. She represented Indian embassy and consulate in UAE and provides legal advisory services on pro bono support to Indian community in UAE, through Indian Embassy/Consulate. Her firm has been recognised amongst Top 10 lawfirms for Corporate Services by Industry Outlook. She is a Mentor and an Angel Investor with the Start-ups.

Her litigation background consists of banking, property laws, succession laws, commercial corporate laws, insolvency and bankruptcy, tenancy laws. Often referred to as a ‘seasoned arbitrator and strategic litigator’. She has done several arbitrations and has represented clients as Counsel/Attorneys in arbitral disputes relating to commercial contracts, shipping, and/or dredging. She represents clients as an attorney and arguing counsel in Bombay High Court, City Civil Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunal and National Company Law Tribunal, in Mumbai and outside Mumbai including their respective Appellate Tribunals and Supreme Court. Her acumen and skills in drafting as incomparable. She is an avid writer and have published several articles on issues involving Arbitration. She regular speaker on key industry platforms.

She represents and advises high profile, clients, corporate and individuals on various deals transactions and or arbitration litigation. She has worked on mergers and acquisitions, operations, and management of hospitals and trust, ESOP Schemes for MSME, foreign investments, issue of transfer and transmission of corporate shareholdings, structuring of partnerships and cross border joint ventures or collaborations. She has worked on managerial contracts for several MNCs, she has also drafted the labour policies for commercial banks based out in UAE. She has worked for few developers on structing of development and redevelopment of real estate projects. She has advised MSME’s in solar power sector, infrastructure sector and also helped them recover their dues.

She also works for noble cause and charity for upliftment of marginal community and is associated with Rotary Club of Millennials, Island City Mumbai, as Community Service Director. She is also a Director with Amzen Foundation, Mumbai focusing on supporting girl education.
