After 25+ years advising states and global businesses on international trade and investment — including a decade as a Sidley Austin partner — I’ve launched Iain Sandford Legal & Dispute Resolution in Geneva.
I work on two tracks:
- As counsel: Representing States and internationally active businesses in trade and investment disputes, treaty negotiations, trade remedies, sanctions, and matters at the intersection of law, policy and geopolitics. My case list spans WTO disputes, investment arbitration, ICJ and ITLOS proceedings, and trade law matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- As neutral: I’m available for appointments as arbitrator or mediator in investment treaty arbitrations, trade agreement disputes, and international commercial matters.
