Personal bio
Post-graduation in 1978, I became a John Laing Construction employee as planner/productivity controller in North West England. In 1980 I transferred to tender planning at Laing International in London where I was assigned to a team of highly experienced senior planning engineers producing, under their tutelage, tender programmes for overseas bids. In 1981 I became a planning engineer for Laing Wimpey Alireza in KSA, projects included Holiday Inn Jeddah and banks in Jeddah, Riyadh and Buraydah. From 1983 through 1986 I served as projects manager for local Jeddah company Arab Builders, projects included villas, offices, workshops and warehouses. In 1987 I became project planner for RM Douglas on a pharmaceutical laboratory in northwest England. From 1988 through 1990 I served as projects manager for Jeddah local company Fakhry, projects included the Swiss Embassy and a VIP Suite at King Fahad Hospital. In 1991 I became a power plant commissioning planner for Enron in Northeast England and gained invaluable experience of plant erection and commissioning. In 1993 I became planning manager for German company, Klockner, leaders of an international consortium for whom I planned a PVC plant in south Iran and a Paper and Board Plant in the north. In 2000 I became planning manager for ABB/ALSTOM’s USA operations, six gas fired power plants were completed through 2003, during the period support was provided to company legal representatives for arbitration proceedings. In 2004 I became a consultant based in Switzerland and primarily supported ALSTOM’s planning and claims on existing and new projects, also provided arbitration support to its legal representatives. In 2009 I joined AECOM as planning manager on Abu Dhabi Guggenheim Museum project and later became Associate Director for delay and project controls, projects included museums, infrastructure, marine, mixed land use, hospitals, airports, seaports, and aircraft maintenance. In 2018 I established my practice in Dubai.
