I'm still passionate about construction after 30+ years in the industry!
There is something uniquely rewarding about helping to deliver a successful project—whatever your role in making it happen. I may not get to visit sites as often as I would like these days, but when I do, the enthusiasm I see on projects still motivates me.
I’m a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with qualifications in law and dispute resolution, and experience spanning multi-billion-dollar projects across roads, rail, tunnels, airports, buildings, oil and gas, and power. I started out on site and later moved into corporate roles—and today I’m based in Athens.
Over more than 30 years, I’ve worked in over 30 countries alongside some of the industry’s biggest players. That journey has included landmark projects such as the Panama Canal, Taipei 101 and the Burj Khalifa—not to mention helping to add a line or two to the London Underground map and contributing to major tunnelling projects in Wales and the UAE. It has been quite a ride.
I’m proud to be a Fellow of RICS, CIArb and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.
My core expertise is commercial and contract management with Tier 1 contractors, including the preparation, negotiation and resolution of complex claims.
I’ve negotiated high-value EPC contracts across the oil, gas and power sectors, covering both project-financed and balance-sheet-financed developments.
My dispute experience includes commercial arbitration, adjudication, expert determination and extensive informal mediation. I also work across contract administration, procurement and negotiation, risk management, construction law, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.
More recently, my focus has expanded into one of the industry’s most exciting developments – AI. I’ve been involved in promoting and organizing roll-out to colleagues as well as exploring how AI tools can support contract review, claims management and decision-making. I think we’re only beginning to see what these tools can do. This space is moving so quickly!
After three decades, I’m still learning…and still looking forward to more construction adventures.
