Mihir Naniwadekar sits as arbitrator in commercial disputes and accepts appointments as sole arbitrator and as a member of a multi-arbitrator tribunal, whether on the nomination of parties or appointing institutions. He has been appointed in 25+ arbitral references and has delivered numerous
reasoned awards across commercial, construction and supply, distribution, partnership and shareholder, finance and recovery, and public-contract disputes. His practice and research span taxation, private law and international arbitration. Alongside his work as arbitrator, Mihir maintains an active tax practice, encompassing advisory work (particularly in international taxation) and litigation. He has appeared as lead counsel in over 75
reported judgments of the Supreme Court of India, the Bombay High Court and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, and as amicus curiae appointed by the Bombay High Court in matters concerning the law of taxation. He has previously been part of the counsel team in international investment
arbitrations, including investment treaty claims arising in a tax background.
