Xiaojung Yip is a construction contracts and claims consultant with several years of experience as a quantity surveyor and a claims consultant. He has been involved in notable projects in Australia, India, Indonesia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates with iconic high-rise buildings, island reclamation, power plants, rail and infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience in preparing and reviewing claims for extension of time, variation/change orders, loss & expense, prolongation, acceleration and disruption for clients all around Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.
Yip also has vast experience in the evaluation of claims and claims defense. Besides providing quantity surveying, contract advisory and contract & project management services, he has also been appointed as a lead assistant in the preparation of expert reports for the appointed expert witness in arbitration, adjudication, and litigation proceedings in both quantum and delay related disputes.
Most notably, he has led and facilitated negotiations as a quantum expert advisor for a dispute between parties in a combined-cycle power plant project for a Contractors' All Risks (CAR) insurance claim, leading to cost savings of USD 15 million. He has also worked alongside an Investigations Unit for an audit for several government related projects and his team has received commendations from the President of the country.
