Konstantin Tsymbalov, MCIArb, is a Russian legal professional with over 8 years of experience in arbitration, ADR, corporate disputes and institutional dispute resolution.

He has been involved in more than 65 arbitration-related matters in different procedural capacities, including as case manager, assistant to arbitral tribunals and counsel/party representative. His experience covers domestic and international commercial arbitration, corporate and shareholder disputes, disputes arising from corporate agreements and option arrangements, construction, supply, R&D, real estate, services, other contract and complex disputes.

Konstantin’s arbitration experience is particularly tribunal-facing. He has assisted arbitral tribunals with case preparation, procedural orders, procedural parts of awards, hearing preparation, procedural correspondence, management of electronic case files and legal research. This work has given him practical insight into how tribunals approach jurisdiction, admissibility, arbitrability, procedural conduct, evidentiary assessment, settlement approval and the efficient management of proceedings.

He has worked with Russian and foreign arbitrators in proceedings under the Rules of the Russian Arbitration Center, including domestic and international cases, expedited and standard procedures, cases with and without oral hearings, and disputes involving Russian and foreign parties. He also has experience as counsel in private practice, including litigation, arbitration, corporate restructuring, transaction structuring, data protection and cross-border projects.

His current work at the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration focuses on institutional management, legal operations, internal processes, digital infrastructure and the development of ADR products. This gives him an additional institutional perspective on effective case management, procedural discipline and the practical expectations of users of arbitration.

Konstantin’s main areas of expertise include corporate and shareholder disputes, disputes arising from corporate agreements and options, commercial contracts, supply and services disputes, construction and infrastructure-related disputes, R&D and technology-related disputes, post-M&A and restructuring-related disputes, institutional arbitration and arbitral procedure.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Law and a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from Lomonosov Moscow State University, both with honours. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Subject to applicable conflict checks and institutional restrictions, Konstantin is available for appointment as arbitrator.
