Earvin is a dispute resolution professional specializing in international arbitration, mediation, and private international law, based in Illinois, U.S.A. He is a Fellow (FCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), where he has served as a North American representative and Treasurer of the CIArb Young Members Group Global Steering Committee, and is a member of both the North America and New York Branches.
He currently moderates the Young-OGEMID listserv, a leading international network connecting attorneys, arbitrators, and academics in the energy and dispute resolution fields, and serves as Newsletter Editor for the North America region (U.S.A., Canada, Greenland) on the Private International Law Interest Group of the American Society of International Law, authoring bi-annual updates on cross-border dispute resolution for ASIL's global membership. He has also judged preliminary rounds of the Willem C. Vis and Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moots, and has organized and moderated symposiums on emerging issues in arbitration.
Earvin grew up in the Philippines, earning a B.S. in Geography from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a J.D. from De La Salle University Manila, before relocating to the United States after completing his law studies. He also studied public and private international law as an alumnus of The Hague Academy of International Law and gained exposure to the UN system through the United Nations Graduate Study Programme in Geneva.
Most recently, Earvin was named an scholar of the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution Foundation (AAA-ICDR Foundation), through which he will study negotiation and dispute resolution at Harvard Law School — the latest step in a career built at the intersection of international arbitration and access to justice.
