Personal bio

Mian Sami ud-Din is a Partner at the law firm Bhandari Naqvi Riaz in Pakistan and has been practising law since 2008 after qualifying as a Barrister in England. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

His international arbitration experience includes acting and advising in respect of matters under the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, KCAB, UNICTRAL and ICSID rules. His expertise includes Public and Private International Law, English law, EU law, Indian law, Singaporean law,
and Korean law.

His experience includes disputes arising out of the technology, media and telecommunication sector; energy sector, financial sector; corporate sector; intellectual property; construction
and infrastructure; and international trade.

Sami takes appointments in both international and domestic arbitrations. He has been appointed as a member of the Arbitration Law Review Committee of the LJCP and co-drafted the Arbitration Bill 2024 based on the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration. He has also been part of the Government of Pakistan’s Working Group of Experts on Pakistan’s Investment Regime Reforms and advised on International Investment Agreements and Investor-State Dispute Settlement reforms.
