Captain. Sivashankar Sreenivasan (FICS, FIoL, MBA, MA Law, PhD) is a Master Mariner and senior maritime executive with over three decades of technical, operational, and commercial experience across the global shipping and commodity-trading sectors. He currently serves as Group Head of Shipping at Seaboard Overseas Limited, where he oversees international shipping operations, legal matters, and dispute management for a diversified fleet and global trading activities.

In addition to his extensive maritime leadership background, Captain. Shankar holds an MBA, a Master’s in Law (England & Wales), and is currently working towards qualifying as a Solicitor of England & Wales. His professional expertise spans charterparty disputes, operational and contractual issues, vessel management, and regulatory compliance, with significant experience in West Africa HRA trading, EU/US regulatory frameworks, and integrated shipping–logistics–commodity risk management.

He is a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitration Association, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership. He has a strong interest in contributing to the practice and development of alternative dispute resolution, with a particular focus on the dry bulk shipping and commodity-trading sectors.

Alongside his professional responsibilities, Captain. Shankar is a research scholar and holds a PhD in Administration, contributing to academic and industry discourse on maritime operations, leadership, and dispute resolution.
