Captain Sivashankar Sreenivasan (FICS, FIoL, MBA, MA Law, PhD) is a Master Mariner and senior maritime executive with over 30 years of technical, operational, commercial, and dispute management experience across the global shipping and commodity trading sectors. He currently serves as Group Head of Shipping at Seaboard Overseas Limited, where he oversees international shipping operations, legal and contractual matters, claims, and dispute management for a diversified fleet and global trading activities.

Captain Shankar holds an MBA, a Master of Arts in Law (England & Wales), and a PhD in Administration. His professional experience includes charterparty disputes, vessel management, operational and contractual matters, sanctions and regulatory compliance, and shipping-related risk management, with particular exposure to West Africa HRA trading and EU/US regulatory frameworks.

He is a Supporting Member of the, a Fellow of the, and a Fellow of the. He has a strong interest in the development and practice of alternative dispute resolution, particularly within the dry bulk shipping and commodity trading sectors.

Alongside his professional responsibilities, Captain Shankar contributes to academic and industry discussions relating to maritime operations, leadership, commercial risk management, and dispute resolution.
