Personal bio
For more than 25 years I have worked within the UK construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Director and strategic commercial consultant, helping contractors, developers and specialist subcontractors navigate complex commercial challenges.
Unlike many dispute professionals, I have spent my career inside construction businesses, leading commercial teams, managing live projects and dealing with the realities of contracts, cash flow, procurement, payment disputes, variations, delay, loss and recovery. That practical experience enables me to understand not only the legal and contractual position, but also the commercial consequences of decisions made on site and in the boardroom.
My work focuses on preventing commercial issues from becoming disputes wherever possible, while providing clear, pragmatic support when disputes do arise. I regularly advise on contract interpretation, payment disputes, final accounts, commercial strategy, entitlement, project recovery, risk management and business protection.
I believe effective dispute resolution begins long before formal proceedings. Most disputes develop from failures in communication, documentation, commercial management or contract administration. Identifying those issues early often protects relationships, preserves profitability and avoids unnecessary litigation.
As a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), with extensive experience across contracting, development and consultancy, I bring a balanced, commercially minded approach to every matter. My objective is not simply to resolve disputes, but to help businesses make better commercial decisions that reduce risk and improve long-term resilience.
I welcome opportunities to work with parties seeking practical, fair and commercially informed dispute resolution within the construction sector.
