Personal bio

Daniel Kabata is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and Managing Partner of Danlex Partners LLP, a law firm in Nairobi, Kenya, specialising in commercial law, intellectual property and arbitration. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 10 years of experience, Commissioner for Oaths, and Notary Public.

Recognised as a Top Arbitrator in Kenya by The Lawyer Africa magazine in 2022, Daniel serves as both arbitrator and counsel in commercial arbitrations across various sectors. His arbitration practice encompasses employment disputes, breach of contract claims, land disputes, local investment agreements and construction disputes. Notable matters include representing claimants in multi-million dollar property development arbitrations and groundbreaking copyright arbitrations.

Daniel has developed particular expertise in intellectual property law, representing regional publishing giants. He provides strategic counsel on corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, legal audits and dispute resolution.

Daniel is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Strathmore University, complementing his strong foundation in law with advanced business acumen. He holds an FCIArb designation (2022), Advanced Certificate in Arbitration (2018), Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law (2013), LL.B from the University of Nairobi (2012) and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management from ABE-UK (2008).
