Ms Oxana Grinberg

Oxana Grinberg, MCIArb, is an arbitrator and dispute resolution lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, international arbitration and cross-border disputes. She currently serves as Head of Dispute Resolution at Marks & Sokolov.

Oxana specialises in Russian law and has particular experience in cross-border disputes involving Russian and German law. Her practice focuses on contractual disputes, particularly in the energy, construction, transportation and logistics sectors. She also advises and represents clients in sanctions-related disputes, cross-border enforcement and asset recovery matters.

She has acted as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC and ICAC Rules and has represented clients before Russian courts at all levels. Oxana also acts as an arbitrator, including as chair and party-appointed arbitrator, and is included on the panels of several Russian and international arbitral institutions. She accepts appointments as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and chair in domestic and international commercial disputes.

Oxana began her legal career as a legal secretary in the Moscow office of Baker McKenzie and went on to become a national partner in the Moscow office of Dechert LLP. She subsequently served as managing partner of Tilling Peters and as a partner at Eversheds Sutherland.

She has been consistently recognised by leading international legal directories, including The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal: Commercial Litigation. The Legal 500 described her as “one of the most talented and successful litigators on the Russian market.”

Oxana earned her first law degree from Lomonosov Moscow State University. She holds an LL.M. cum laude in Private Law from the Russian School of Private Law and an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London.

She has been admitted to practise as an attorney in the Russian Federation since 2002 and is registered with the Berlin Bar as a foreign lawyer under section 206 of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO). She is a native Russian speaker and is fluent in German and English.
