Judicial experience
Justice of Appeal for the Court of Appeal of Bermuda (1 January 2025 to present).
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bermuda (July 2018 to December 2023). As Chief Justice acted as head of the Commercial Court and presided over all significant commercial, insolvency and trust cases during this period.
Professional practice in Bermuda
Joined Conyers Dill & Pearman in Bermuda as an Associate in January 1983 and admitted as a Partner in 1987. Over the course of 37 years of professional practice in Bermuda (1981 to 2018) appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the Privy Council. Enjoyed wide-ranging practice in civil and commercial law and specialised in international corporate and commercial disputes; Bermuda insolvency law and practice; insurance and reinsurance disputes; arbitration law and practice; and international trust litigation.

Member of the Bermuda Bar Association (1989 to 2018)
Member of the Bermuda Bar Council (April 1991 to April 1999).
President of the Bermuda Bar Association (March 1997 to April 1999).
Chairman of Professional Conduct Committee of the Bermuda Bar Association (April 1999 to April 2001).
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (1972 - 1975) and Master of Laws (1975-1976), London School of Economics (University of London).
Called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 1978.
Admitted as a Barrister and Attorney of the Supreme Court of Bermuda in May 1981.
