Syed Abdullah Anwer, FCIArb, is a Senior Associate at TAHOTA Law Firm's Pakistan Office, specializing in international arbitration and dispute resolution. Holding an LLM in International & Maritime Laws from Bahria University Islamabad and an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, he is a Fellow and Accredited Mediator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), with certifications in Arbitration Award Writing and FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
His expertise spans maritime disputes (cargo damage claims, crew wage issues, carriage contracts), construction and FIDIC disputes (project delays, defects liability, payment certifications), cross-border investment resolution, and sectors including energy, banking, finance, intellectual property, and succession matters. Empaneled as an arbitrator and mediator with institutions such as MICADR, Legal Aid Society, and Islamabad High Court ADR Center, he has presided over/assisted in cases globally involving EPC, BOT, and PPP frameworks, and assisted in high-profile arbitrations like those under FIDIC Silver Book.
A prolific author, he co-authored "The Manual of Maritime Laws"in Pakistan and published articles on investor-state dispute settlement, BRI investments, and maritime regulations. Fluent in English, Urdu, and Arabic, Mr. Abdullah has received honors for arbitrating in international moots, including the Willem C. Vis and Foreign Direct Investment competitions.
