Personal bio
I am a practicing Advocate and Principal at Dennis Kimani Mutonga Advocate, a Nairobi-based legal practice offering strategic and client-focused legal services. I hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb).
My areas of expertise include:
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Civil & Criminal Litigation
Contract Law
Data Protection & ICT Law
Conveyancing
Probate & Succession
Legal Audit & Compliance Advisory
I am deeply committed to the growth of arbitration and ADR in Kenya, particularly as efficient, cost-effective alternatives to litigation. My training in arbitration and legal audit has enabled me to approach disputes and compliance challenges with a structured, risk-sensitive, and forward-thinking mindset.
I have also previously served as Resettlement Officer and Resettlement Coordinator at HIAS Kenya, focusing on refugee protection, human rights, and resettlement (RST)—bringing a human rights lens to my current legal practice.
Beyond legal work, I am the founder and lead author of DKMA Advocates Corner, a platform that promotes public legal education and engages with emerging legal issues across Kenya.
