Personal bio

Gretchen Tucker is a seasoned executive with a proven record as a legal advisor to Bermuda decision-makers in the commercial, public and third sectors, focusing on the practical alignment of enterprise risk and governance programmes with the rights and interests of individuals as enshrined in the Human Rights Act 1981, the Public Access to Information Act 2010, the Personal Information Protection Act 2016 and common law.

Widely recognised as one of Bermuda's leading privacy advocates, Ms Tucker founded and chaired the Bermuda Bar Council privacy sub-committee for 5 years and has also served on various other local bodies, including the IAPP Bermuda KnowledgeNet Chapter, the Architects Registration Council and the Smiths Parish Council.

In 2026, she was appointed as the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda, becoming the first Bermudian and woman to hold the role. She has a specific interest in the protection of the rights of children and vulnerable populations.
