Timo Ylikantola is a founding partner of Ratiolex. Timo has over 20 years’ counselling experience in international and domestic arbitration proceedings and demanding national civil litigation cases before all instances of the Finnish state courts.

Timo has successfully represented clients (including national and multinational corporations, private individuals, state-owned entities and foreign states) in complex and significant international and domestic arbitration proceedings related to construction, M&A transactions, corporate, commercial contracts and energy disputes under institutional arbitration rules such as the Arbitration Rules of the Finland Chamber of Commerce (FAI), the Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the Arbitration Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and in ad hoc arbitrations under the Finnish Arbitration Act. Timo has also acted as a counsel in investment arbitration proceedings and in enforcement proceedings of domestic and international commercial and investment arbitral awards.

In addition to his counsel work, Timo Ylikantola, who is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a Finnish national, sits frequently as an arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations.

Timo participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna as a student member of the first team of the University of Helsinki in 2003–2004 and has acted as an arbitrator at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moots.
