The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) has been the sole provider of arbitration referral services for the Pubs Code Adjudicator in England and Wales for the last four years. Due to reducing numbers of Pubs Code disputes, the administration of the scheme will be transferred to the Pubs Code Adjudicator from 28 November 2025.

Ciarb has been the sole provider of the Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA) scheme since 2021, playing a vital role in supporting fair and independent resolution of disputes between tied pub tenants and pub-owning businesses in England and Wales.

Due to a reduction in Pubs Code dispute numbers, delivery of the arbitration services will be transferred from Ciarb to the PCA, who will directly manage dispute services from 28 November 2025.

Ciarb thanks the PCA for its trust and support over the past four years, ensuring a successful and productive relationship. During this time, Ciarb has ensured that arbitrators were well trained in the Pubs Code and that disputes were handled with consistency, impartiality and respect for tenant rights.

Ciarb will work closely with the PCA to ensure a seamless transition, maintaining continuity and quality in the service provided to tenants and pub-owning businesses alike.
