In memoriam: Dr Ashok Sharma FCIArb

On behalf of everyone at Ciarb, we send our sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Dr Ashok Sharma FCIArb who sadly passed away recently.
Dr Sharma joined Ciarb in 2012 and was a valued and highly respected member of the Ciarb India Branch Committee. He was an experienced arbitrator in commercial and maritime disputes. An advocate and in-house counsel for over 50 years, Dr Sharma’s practice spanned international trade, joint ventures, commercial and maritime arbitration, and high-stakes litigation.
In 2010, Dr Sharma established the Indian Corporate Counsel Association before, in 2020, going on to found and lead the Federation of Indian Corporate Lawyers.
Dr Sharma’s dedication and service to the Ciarb India Branch and the wider arbitration community are greatly appreciated and will leave a lasting legacy. His commitment and leadership will be remembered with great respect and gratitude.
