Join Ciarb Scottish Branch for the Annual Lecture and Annual General Meeting, following the annual conference.
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Scottish Branch) is delighted to host this year’s Annual Lecture titled ‘AI: A Judge’s Perspective’, delivered by The Hon Lord Lake, Judge of the Supreme Courts of Scotland.
Appointed to the bench in 2022, Lord Lake brings a distinguished career at the Bar, with extensive experience across commercial, construction, and intellectual property disputes. Before taking Silk in 2008, he was involved in some of the most significant cases of recent decades, including the Lockerbie trial. More recently, he served as senior counsel to the inquiry into the Edinburgh Tram Project.
The event will take place at the Collector's Hall in Glasgow and will be followed by a networking reception.
Members are also invited to attend the Branch's Annual General Meeting which will start at 5.15pm.
The Financial Statements of the Branch together with the Report of the Auditor will be discussed. The membership will also be asked to approve the election of new members to the Branch Committee for the 2026 to 2027 year.
The event will take place at the Collector’s Hall in Glasgow at 18:00 and will be followed by a networking reception.
Open to members and non-members. Conference attendees are warmly encouraged to join. Members are also invited to attend the Branch’s Annual General Meeting which will take place 17:15-17:45.

- To receive the Chair’s Report.
- To receive and approve the Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Report.
- To approve the election of new Committee Members for the forthcoming year.
- To consider and if appropriate vote upon any Special Business.
- Informal discussion.
