Who is the Diploma for?
The Diploma is suitable for individuals who are actively involved in or have experience of domestic or international arbitration, and for professionals with at least five years’ experience in a related field.

The Diploma focuses on the legal and practical framework of international commercial arbitration, including the proper drafting and interpretation of the arbitration agreement, the powers of an arbitrator, the written and oral arbitration procedure, and the fundamentals of an enforceable arbitral award. Once you have successfully completed the Diploma assessments, you will gain a Global Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (Virtual) certificate and you can apply to become a Ciarb Fellow (FCIArb). In turn, you become eligible to join Ciarb’s and other global dispute panels.

This Diploma will run from 8-31 May 2026, over four weeks. Lectures and workshops will be held on Friday afternoons and on Saturdays and Sunday mornings.

What does the Diploma cost?
The Global Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (Virtual) costs £5,995.00, including VAT. At least 50% of the fee must be paid as a deposit when you enrol. This 50% deposit is non-refundable. Discounts for Ciarb professional members and non-members may apply.
The fee includes full access to Ciarb's online learning platform, LearnADR, one-on-one access to your dissertation supervisor and tutor throughout, and all assignments, assessments and exemption tests. For more information, download the brochure.
Meet the Diploma’s Director, Dr Crina Baltag FCIArb
Professor Assoc. Dr Crina Baltag FCIArb is Associate Professor in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary University of London and the School of International Arbitration. Crina practices as an arbitrator and she is a qualified attorney-at-law, member of the Romanian and Bucharest Bar, with extensive practice, for over twenty years, in international commercial and investment arbitration, international dispute resolution, private international law.
